Did someone say pudding pop?

This morning while my bike seat was being stolen I was designing one of the ugliest creations know to man. It looks like a Bill Cosby sweater. I blame this on my recent rejections from fabric houses and the information that I will be losing my job here soon due to the city voting for it's closure. So with that said here is my foul attitude in the form of vintage butterfly wing barf on mirrored repeat.

How can something start from this beauty...

...end this tragically?

It looks better close up...

I'm thinking about changing the colors as well the pattern.

Pattern issue resolved, now on to the colors!

And now working with the color some. Making lemonade, so to speak.

Slight pattern and color change. I'm happy.

I usually reserve this blog for my fabrics and that is it! But this morning at 10:21 am this jerk stole my bike seat! Right off my bike which is parked right outside my work. We thankfully have security cameras. I've been showing his photo to everyone who comes in and one guy swears to know him. So I offered him $50 if he returns my seat to me along with the trash who stole it.He just left to go track him down!

This is my first work designed using vintage clip art.
I think it's beautiful,
but I'd be a liar if I didn't admit that
it feels like cheating!
It brings up a debate about the copyright.
I know it's copyright free now
and that I've changed the colors and context
so I should be able to copyright it for myself in this state.
But it still feels wrong!
Anyway, this gorgeous clip art was found on
which is amazing and inspiring.

Update: No copyright issues. It's clip art! Which I knew, I worry. So It's all good for resale!

Wrap it Up

Apron Lovin'
designed for Spoonflower's Apron contest.
Thanks to everyone who voted! I came in dead last! Haha!
I named my first apron after my
crafty & talented friend Jaime
who owns Game Over Taxidermy in Seattle.

Don't judge this apron by my terrible mock up featured below!
I swear it'll be much cuter in real life!
It's one of those weeks...

Breaking the Boxy

Fill in the Blank

Sticking to my new goals,
here is another small print great for lining
bags, blazers, and bottoms*...
*I listen to Ragan Fox too much when designing!

Finders Keepers

X Marks the Spot

© Dolphin & Condor

Upon review of my fabric designs, I noticed two missing pieces. I lack small print designs that would be useful to line jackets, purses and the back pieces of upholstered furniture, as well as black and white (or shades of grey) fabrics. So, I've made those missing pieces new goals of mine. So here is the first small print "liner" fabric I've designed along with a version in shades of grey...
